Welcome to Ladybirds!

Mrs. Thompson is the class teacher for Ladybirds, Miss Davies and Miss Franklin are the Learning Support Assistants. Miss Longley teaches the class on a Wednesday.

We have a big, bright classroom with an outdoor area for learning. We have a variety of free-flow learning, whole class learning and small group interventions to help children make the best start to their primary schooling.

We follow the Early Years Framework, and the three prime areas are key to forming a good foundation for our Ladybirds.  To inspire the children, we have six topic themes that enrich our learning over the year.

We follow the Little Wandle phonics scheme and Mastering Number for maths learning. We use Tapestry online learning journal to record evidence of children's progress, that can be shared with parents and carers securely. A weekly Ladybirds' newsletter informs parents of important dates, information and suggestions for home learning. Promoting independence and nurturing in Ladybirds is a fundamental part of our Stepgates ethos.
