Welcome to Falcons Class!

Falcons is a vibrant Year 3 class where children begin their exciting Key Stage 2 journey. We are committed to creating a happy, inclusive and supportive learning environment where every child feels valued, confident and ready to learn.

How We Teach

In Falcons Class, we provide engaging and stimulating learning opportunities across the curriculum. Lessons are carefully planned to build confidence, independence and resilience whilst encouraging curiosity and a love of learning.

Autumn: Would you prefer to have lived in the Stone Age, Bronze Age or Iron Age?

Spring: Why did the Romans invade and settle in Britain?

Summer: What was important to Ancient Egyptians?

We use a range of teaching approaches to meet the needs of all learners, including practical activities, collaborative learning, discussion, investigation and opportunities for children to apply their skills independently.

What Is Special About Our Provision

Year 3 marks an important transition into Key Stage 2. We support children to develop greater independence whilst ensuring they feel secure and confident in their new environment.

Throughout the year, children will explore a wide range of exciting topics and enrichment opportunities designed to inspire creativity, deepen understanding and make learning memorable.

What Additional Support Is Available

We are committed to ensuring that every child can access learning and thrive in school. Teaching and learning are adapted to meet individual needs, and children are supported through a range of strategies and resources where appropriate.

Our dedicated staff work closely with families and other professionals to ensure all children receive the support they need to succeed.

How Children Are Included in School Life

All children in Falcons Class are encouraged to take an active role in school life. We promote kindness, respect and collaboration, helping children to develop positive relationships and become valued members of the school community.

Children have opportunities to participate in school events, enrichment activities, educational visits and wider leadership opportunities, ensuring they feel included and celebrated as part of the Stepgates family.
