Themed Week 'Around the World'

The children were phenomenal during Themed Week (week beginning 26th January 2026), which began with Stepgates being transformed into an airport and aeroplane. The children excitedly moved through security, collecting their boarding cards and passports, before boarding flight SG067.

Throughout the week, the children travelled around the world learning facts about each country and taking part in an activity. This included making penguins from Antarctica, friendship bracelets from Jamaica and rain sticks from Brazil. They were also able to use VR headsets to virtually travel to each country.

The fun-filled week ended on Friday where each class presented a short creative presentation from their country (lots of dancing) and then got to sample foods from each country at a Food Festival.

Sunbeams also joined in with Themed Week as they, too, travelled around the world each day, making crafts and eating foods from around the world. They tried soda bread from Ireland, plantain chips and even made their own jollof rice from Ghana.
