Welcome to Ladybirds!

Mrs. Bywater is the class teacher for Ladybirds and Miss Davies, Miss Wade and Mrs Scott are the Learning Support Assistants. Miss Hancox teaches the class on a Wednesday afternoon.

We have a big, bright classroom with an outdoor area for learning. We have a variety of free-flow learning, whole class learning and small group interventions to help children make the best start to their primary schooling.

We follow the Early Years Framework, and the three prime areas are key to forming a good foundation for our Ladybirds.  To inspire the children, we have six topic themes that enrich our learning over the year.

We follow the Little Wandle phonics scheme and White Rose for maths learning. We use Tapestry online learning journal to record evidence of children's progress, that can be shared with parents and carers securely. A weekly Ladybirds' newsletter informs parents of important dates, information and suggestions for home learning. Promoting independence and nurturing in Ladybirds is a fundamental part of our Stepgates ethos.
